My Christmas Nails

I know I'm a week late but I hope you all had a great Christmas with your family and friends and received everything you wished for :) I did, even Nathan didn't have to work Christmas day night which we thought he did so it was perfect.
I woke up with Nathan at his Nans and we opened presents together, then he dropped me back to my house to open presents and eat Christmas dinner with my mum and brother, which was a little bit sad as it was probably the last one with me still living there (no we didn't move out this year haha). At about 5 o'clock I get a call from Nath saying he didn't have to work so he picked me back up, we then watched films and drunk wine haha and that was my xmas day.
Back to the original post which were my nails on the day....

Just a simple red and silver accent nail with a little bit of glitter on the silver too.
Using Models Own HyperGel in Red Lustre & Models Own Sterling Silver.

#nailartchallengemay Day 2 - Cupcakes

My first day for the nail art challenge on Instagram and its cupcakes, what I like about these challenges is it means that you get to do designs you wouldn't normally think of doing, so here's my cupcake.

The pink is Leighton Denny - Babydoll, totally forgot how much I love this colour! and the Swarovski rhinestone is from Born Pretty. Just to warn you all through this challenge my artistic skills are non existent, but I'm gonna give it a good go!

My Weekly Pedicure

This week I fancied something bright and different. My go to for bright nails? The Ice Neon collection from Models Own, now your meant to leave these in the fridge to get maximum 'neonness' hmm do you think that word will catch on? No me neither. I don't leave them in there mainly because its my mums fridge and she'll tell me to get them out as soon as she spots them. I have the whole 5 of them as I'm a sucker for bright polish, I wear quite toned down coloured clothes so I make up for it with my nails :)

The pink is 'Bubblegum' from the collection, the black triangle was made with striping tape and the heart studs were kindly sent to me by Born Pretty I honestly cant rave about this website more, I love it! There's also a little 10% off code to the right of my blog if you fancy using it :)

I'm also a big sucker for sparkles soooo this happened -
Just a teenie bit of glitter to catch the sun :)

What are your go to colours for summer?

Inversion Method - Update

Okay so... did I get hair growth? Yes. Was it an inch? No.
I got half an inch of growth and to be honest I didn't do the last two days, maybe that made a difference? After being back at work last week after two weeks off I really couldn't be bothered to do it when I got in, so half an inch in 5 days isn't so bad when you think about it, especially when your meant to get that in a whole month. I don't think ill be doing it again, mostly because I'm a lazy person haha and it is a lot of faffing about and messy!
Last month I used F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner, I actually couldn't tell that my hair was growing from it but after my hairdresser said my hair was growing fast it made me think twice about ordering again. So next month I will be repurchasing it and will do a full on review for it to see just how good it does work and ill let you know :)

Do you have any tips for hair growth?

My Weekly Loves

My first love this week was my mum coming out of hospital after spending a week in there for a hysterectomy and cyst removal, I thought I would be a lot stronger about the situation but at the end of the day its my mum, the one person that will be there throughout everything and it hit me pretty hard saying bye to her before going into theater for surgery. Anyway, all went well after a few hiccups on the first day and now shes back home being as demanding as ever haha.

My second love new Ben & Jerry's Greek style frozen yogurt, strawberry shortcake flavour.

This stuff is soooo yummy! I don't really see a difference between frozen yogurt and ice cream except this seems a bit more creamier. Its strawberry frozen yogurt with frozen pieces of strawberry in it, now I don't like whole strawberry's usually but it turns out if there frozen, then I do! What really made choose this was the fact it has bits of shortcake biscuit in it, I love biscuits, ill have them over chocolate any day. They have more flavours in this range but Im not sure what they are :/.

Thirdly, 6 sparkly wine glasses.

These picture really do not give them justice to how sparkly they actually are. I love drinking wine out of one of these glasses, especially sat out in the garden with the sun shining on them now we've had some decent sun in England! They were made from a company off Facebook 'Blinging Beautiful' but there are loads of people doing them now.

My next love is the Sony XDR-DS16IPN 8-pin lightning docking station

Id been looking for a docking station for a while but a decent one is quite expensive so i choose littlewoods to order mine to help me along a little bit, the selection for a iPhone 5  one though was a bit poor, I wanted a standing speaker type but they only had the 16 pin for an IPhone 4 or lower. In the end after reading the reviews i choose this one, I'm glad I did its great, good sound quality, DAB and FM radio, audio in slot, it charges your phone as your listening to music and a little remote, perfect.

Keeping with the music theme I'm also loving Spotify at the moment its a great place to keep all my music in folders to keep them organised, it has every album and artist you could think of as well as the top 40 and playlist made up for you by Spotify to suit your mood. The free version is great if you only listen to music on your laptop at home with the Wi-Fi connected but for me I like to listen to music all time when i'm out and about, so I pay £9.99 a month for it for offline listening, especially in the boyfriends car when I take over and he has to listen to One Direction and Do You Wanna Build A Snowman haha he loves it really!

Lastly this week I loved getting away for the day with Nathan for a trip to Cleethorpes.

In this picture we was sat on the pier next to a restaurant having a drink in the sun, you can just about see the beach in the back ground. It was nice to get away for the day especially after the week I had with my mum and after all Naths efforts he still didn't win me a teddy on the grabbing machines in the arcades! Maybe next time.

Whats been your loves for the week?

Inversion Method For Hair Growth - An Inch In 7 Days??

After one of my many visit to YouTube to look at hair growth techniques I came across 'The Inversion Method'. Many people have had between half an inch and an inch growth in just 7 days, I'm not going lie this excited me haha, I'm on a quest for boob length hair, at the moment its at collar bone length so I've got a lot of growing to do! Obviously there was doubt about this I mean an inch in 7 days, really?!
All I could do was try, so here I am sat with sunflower oil over my head and scalp on day one of my inversion journey. Its best to do this just one week out of the month to get the best benefits from it, you dont want your hair to get used it.

The Inversion Method
  1. Heat up your oil - I think the preferred oil is olive but you can use any, I only chose sunflower because it was the cheapest. Of course you have to be careful heating it up, I heated it in the microwave checking every 15 secs till it was warm.
  2. Put onto your scalp - this isn't as messy as you think it would be, honest.
  3. Massage in for 2 mins - not everyone says to do this but I chose to, every little helps right?
  4. Tip your head forward for 4 mins - I sat on the edge of my bed to do this.
Unfortunately not everyone can do this method I probably should of mentioned this at the start but it is not advised to do if you have any of these conditions -
pregnancy, hernia, low or high blood pressure, recent stroke, heart or circulatory problems, glaucoma, conjunctivitis, detached retina, spinal injury, swollen joints, osteoporosis, unhealed fractures or injuries, ear infection.
Make sure you bring your head back up slowly afterwards, I felt a little light headed after so be careful.
  5. Optional step, put clingfilm/shower cap over your head - I didn't do this, just because I didn't want to use up my mums clingfilm haha, this just keeps the heat in better on your head - 'greenhouse effect'.
  6. Leave oil on your head for 2 hours then shampoo out.

Do this everyday for a week and you should see half an inch to an inch of hair growth, well we shall see. My hair started off at 13 inches so Ill make sure to check back in in a week and let you know my results.
Take a look online at the inversion method and see peoples results, let me know what you think. If you have already done the inversion method what were your results?

P.s If you have a dog he may try to lick/eat your hair ;/

My Skin Savior

Now this post may be a bit useless to some of you but hopefully really useful to those of                                  you who suffer from eczema as bad as I do.

You may be thinking 'just go to the doctors', the first time I did and for the price of two creams, one for moisturising another a steroid cream, I soon looked for a cheaper alternative when they ran out. While in the doctors one day my mum noticed a leaflet for eczema, on the leaflet was a bunch of 'Aveeno' products including a cream, lotion and bath and shower oil. I find using an oil on my skin really moisturising so I opted for the bath and shower oil.

I bought mine from amazon for a rather expensive (in my eyes) £8.12 for 250ml of product, still cheaper than the creams from the pharmacy though. It tells you to use two tablespoons into running bath water or use straight onto skin in a shower. The water goes a murky beige colour, personally I think it smells nice but may not be to everybody's taste.

This stuff is AMAZING!!! It soothes my skin during a flare up, I find myself hardly scratching at all, before using this my skin had scarred and was a much darker colour than the rest of my skin, luckily I suffer most on my thighs so its hidden (another reason why I didn't fancy a trip to the doctors), the dark skin has got considerably better. As your soaking in it its also working wonders on the rest of your skin, the smell stays on your skin afterwards even after using a body wash, you can feel the oil over your skin after drying and it feels a bit greasy (it doesn't last long) but I like this knowing that the product is on my skin.

I cannot fault this bath and shower oil. It is a miracle worker! For the sake of my skin I will be repurchasing and also trying out other products in the range.

My Weekly Loves

The first and best thing Ive loved this week was
Sleep!
For some reason this week Ive been extra tired, (even going to bed at 6 o'clock one day!) Maybe its the fact that as I work in a school and we break up for the Easter holidays on Wednesday, the days are dragging far too much! But with Bel over at Journeys Are My Diary we have a laugh near enough everyday so its not all bad.

Secondly, My new sparkly lampshade...

Ive had my eye on this for quite a while since spotting it in B&M a few weeks ago for £19.99. I love it, its so much brighter in my room now and sparkly things always make me happy :)

Next thing, my new travel mug...

As big 'Friends' lover (Yup I've got the box set) I couldn't resist this travel mug from Truffle Shuffle even at the price of £9,99. I really couldn't say no haha.

Lastly, Stacey Soloman's perfume 'Smile'

I received this as gift from a friend for my last birthday and have just started using it again, having 12 different perfumes I'm often switching between them all. I love the bottle design its very feminine and that ties in with the scent, its the only way I can think to describe it feminine and girly. What I also love about this perfume is it last all day, Ill put it on at about 8 o'clock in the morning and smell it on myself all day till I get in from work and put my pajamas on even then its still on my skin. Ive also had people say "You smell nice" so that's a bonus too haha.

What's been your loves for the week?

Born Pretty's Holographic Nail Varnish

On one of my many visits to the Born Pretty website I came across a lovely purple holographic nail varnish but at £7.75 for a 6ml bottle it took me some persuading to buy it and lots of umming and arring.

This was the result after 2 coats, I must admit I was a bit disappointed as I wouldn't really call this holographic even if it is a nice shade and you see there's a few specks of different colours.

However these pictures were taken at night time with the flash on and as you can see you get the holographic effect. It is really pretty, I only wish it looked like this the whole time and the bottle was bigger to match the price it has.
From now on I think ill only use this polish on my fingernails maybe then ill see the effect better.
Born Pretty does have a range of different coloured holographic polishes, that may show up better than this dark purple colour. If a have a month where I have some spare money floating around I may splurge on this silver one and see how it differs.

Do you know any good holographic polishes I could try?

Models Own HyperGels

I think its time to tell you all what a massive Models Own geek I am!
I have 37 of their polishes, wow Ive never actually counted them all before haha. Ill show you my Models Own collection one day soon I'm sure, but for now ill just show you two of their newish HyperGels. They are basically a thick nail/gel polish but instead of having to wait under a UV light for them to cure like you would at the salon you simply paint them on your nails in the comfort of your own home and get a high shine, long lasting manicure! I love them and currently own four of the ten in the HyperGel collection but will probably expand it when Models Own have an offer on, which is a lot of the time! (my poor bank balance)

Cerise Shine & White Light

This is the design I chose to do with these two colours.
The second picture isn't the best quality but shows the shine off better.
Cerise Shine is a brilliant bright pink and White Light is just your basic white, they are easy to apply however the polish is thicker so you don't need a lot on the brush and it means it only takes one coat- anyone who has tried to use a white polish you'll know how annoying it is that you need about 3 coats to make it look decent, not this polish!
The stud is from Born Pretty, you get about 50 of them in a bag, all I do is put a top coat over my nail and while its wet stick on the stud, then apply another layer of top coat and that stud is going nowhere.

Do you love Models own? Have you ever heard of Models Own?

♥ Meet Missy!

This is the reason it can take me up to 4 hours just to do one simple post on here!
He jumps onto my bed and gives me this look -

Then I spend 10 mins giving him cuddles.

Yes, he is a boy and I have no idea why my mum decided to call him Missy!
He's a 3 year old Bichon Frise, very mischievous, wants attention all time and sleeps on my windowsill. Just like most dogs you cant eat anything without him sitting there staring at you, sneakily edging himself closer so he can smell it.
I know it sounds silly but you do really see your pets as family and not to sound soppy but I love him!

Let me know what pets you have :)

New Blog Design

So as Ive now started to blog a bit more regularly I decided it was time to make my blog more personal to me and put my stamp on it, also to have a play on Pic Monkey at the same time which is always fun, when you have the time. I honestly didn't know where to start so what do people do nowadays? Ask Google of course! After simply typing in 'how to make a custom header for blogger' up came loads of results, I chose Thinking Outside The Sandbox, their steps were really easy to follow and I pinched their idea of making three rounded edged boxes, I really love how it turned out but knowing me Ill end up changing it again within a few months haha.

Let me know what you think. :)

My Pedicure For The Week / Water Decal Review

Having a bit of an obsession with all things nail related I'm always on the look out for new ways to make my finger and toe nails look pretty, more my toe nails as unfortunately I cant have painted nails for work! So you'll probably see more pedicures than manicures as my fingernails take a bit of a battering everyday being in and out of water :(
Anyway back to the original post...

Recently I've been looking for water decals, my go to place for anything to do with nails is Born Pretty they have an amazing selection of anything you can possibly think of related to nails, they also have beauty/home/hair/stationery/jewelry, I often find myself on the website for hours just looking through all the categories!

After typing in water decals in the search box 6 pages of different decals came up, I ended up choosing 5 different water decals, the one ill show you today came in a set of 4 on one sheet.

Sorry for the bad picture, the one I took of them wasn't much better either but when there in front of you they are brilliant, very detailed.

As you can see my first attempt was the left foot! It went a little bit to the right, I obviously didn't line it up right, I learnt from my mistake and managed to get the right foot pretty spot on. I now love water nail decals they are so easy to use! You simply cut out the design, soak it in water for about 15 secs then place on your nail and peel the backing off! They take no time at all and give a very good effect on your nail, I just topped mine off with a top coat and as I write this post 5 days on they are still stuck on there and will stay there till I take them off with nail varnish remover.

The price for this set of 4 was $3.99, the whole website is in USD, as I'm from the UK it doesn't take much to just ask Google to convert it for you which was then just £2.41.
Born Pretty ships worldwide for free and ships within 24 of your order being placed. I love it!

How I Cut My Hair - CreaClip Review

A couple of years ago I was on YouTube looking at ways people cut their hair at home so I could save myself some money from taking trips to the hairdressers every other month, plus i have a blunt fringe and as anyone who tries to cut their own full fringe will know it has to be straight! I then stumbled across CreaClip, the best way I can describe it is a curved hinged clamp with a mini spirit level in the middle and also a straight hinged clamp with a mini spirit level in the middle. After watching many videos and tutorials I decided Id pay the £19.99 and take the plunge to cut my own hair (Its not as scary as it seems!)

The small blue CreaClip is for your fringe/bangs, whether you have a straight blunt fringe like me or a side fringe all you simply have to do is turn the mini level in the middle to get your desired cut, also make sure the bubble is in the middle if you are doing a straight cut! Obviously I recommend using correct hairdressing scissors, I found mine on Amazon for £5.50. When cutting your hair its best to do it with the scissors at a 45 degree angle and take of a little at a time! You can always trim more but you can't stick it back on.

I like my fringe quite long so I didn't really have to take much off but as you can see it looks much neater and it goes longer down the sides to blend into your hair. I personally love the results plus it only took about 5 mins to do so good for people who don't have the time to go to the hairdressers, its perfect!

A few months ago I got my hair cut short, yes I realise my first post was about hair growth but I change my mind on things quite often :) I now want it long again haha. So at the moment its too short for me to show you how the white CreaClip works but as soon as its long enough ill definitely blog about it and show you. In the meantime search it on YouTube and you'll soon be wanting one like I did its quick, easy, saves you money. I love mine.

Lush Review - Tender Is The Night

For Valentines Day I received the 'Lots Of Love' gift box by Lush from my boyfriend Nathan, inside was:
Sex bomb - a bath bomb
Prince Charming - shower gel
Neon Body Soap
Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
and Tender Is The Night - massage bar

I had never used a massage bar from Lush before, as i suffer from eczema I get a bit scared of using new products on my skin so I usually stick to what i know like Palmer's Coco Butter and Johnson's baby oil. Since the box has been in my room for the past month I thought id give it a go and I really liked it, whilst rubbing the bar in my hands I was surprised how oily it went and how easily it absorbed into my skin, the smell was nice and girly and stayed on my skin for a good few hours after, it also left my skin very soft.

The online description from the Lush website -

Shea and murumuru butters are specially blended to melt easily onto the skin to allow a smooth massage. As well as helping the bar glide, they also help to lock in moisture. As the bar warms and softens, it releases the heady blend of ylang ylang oil, Fair Trade vanilla absolute, and jasmine absolute that settle onto the skin.

Overall its a nice product and I'll definitely be using it again but at the price of £6.50 I probably wont be buying it for myself, I think that's a bit steep for a massage bar even though I suppose they'll last a long time I just couldn't justify spending that much.

What are your favorite Lush products?

My Plans For The Year

So this year (even though we're already in march) I plan to hopefully move out with my boyfriend, having been with each other for 6 years this May and us both being nearly 24 i think its time I flew the nest.
Since I was about 14 its mostly been my mum, my brother and me, so moving out is a pretty scary/sad thought but I suppose its got to happen at some stage right?

I obviously plan to blog more.

I like blogging, I just think I'm a bit too lazy sometimes and would prefer to lay in bed and catch up on Hollyoaks and The Big Bang Theory. At least I'm honest :)

I plan to finally pass my driving theory test/practical and be on the road.

Other than them three things I'm pretty laid back and will let life deal me whatever cards it wants to for this year.

What are your goals for the year?
